Mashed potatoes and gravy
Maybe I will try to start every post with a title that includes two food stuffs...
Thanksgiving -- my favorite holiday! -- is less than a week away. This year, the turkey will be carved at Aunt S and Uncle B's house, with contributions by Aunt M & Uncle R. Oh, who am I kidding, the uncles aren't contributing a thing. My aunts definately are the queens of their kitchens. The funny thing about Thursday is that my holiday was planned before I even was invited anywhere to eat. I phoned my parents:
"Hey, Dad. What's going on for Thanksgiving this year? Are you going to be in Florida?"
"Yep. We leave in the morning." (This is the first they have mentioned their departure.) "But you're going to Aunt S's with R&B."
"I am?" This is the first I have heard of my plans.
"That's what I was told," Dad continues. "That you were meeting R&B somewhere along the road down here and were going to ride with them."
The next day I called R&B. Sure enough, they knew the plan, but only because Aunt M had told them what it was.
